Analog Bit Reducer / VCA
3-BIT is an analog processor that transforms audio waveforms into 9 bipolar levels creating a “digital” stepped waveform.
The levels can be reduced from 9 to 8 to 7... to 0.
The (BIT) slider and cv input step thru the 9 bit levels. Each bit has it's own character as the waveform is reduced to a square wave at level 1.
At level 0 the waveform is off.
The overall gain of the waveform is modulated by the (AM) cv input acting as a smooth VCA .
The IN slider sets the gain into the BIT circuit and allows for selective overdrive of the BIT circuit with a setting above U.
Create raw stepped waveforms with an organic digital character from sine, triangle, or other simple waveforms.
Use with a complex waveforms to add a textured digital character.

Quality all analog circuitry
-
IN slider allows for overdriving of the BIT circuit
-
The bit slider adjusts the number of steps in the waveform. The amplitude slightly decreases as the steps are reduced down to off at level 0. The BIT cv can be used as a crude VCA.
-
The Bit CV mod knob allows for pos and neg modulation that adds to the position of the BIT slider.
-
The AM knob allows for expansion or compression of the audio level and is used as a smooth VCA.
